Who: Valtruis is a venture capital firm with a mission to support the evolution of American healthcare by empowering entrepreneurs to accelerate the adoption of true value-based care. 


What: As an new entity, Valtruis needed everything – starting with a name. Our inspiration for “Valtruis” came from the prefix “val” (derived from the word “value”) combined with the word “altruism’; the end result was a name that expressed the ethos of the company and provided a natural bridge to the development of its visual identity. At the head of the corporate mark (pardon the pun) is the profile of Hygieia, the Greek goddess of health. The rest of the aesthetic draws on design elements of Valtruis’ corporate parent, Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, while introducing its own design system that adeptly mixes classicism and minimalism with a bit of “nowism.”
